1.  Fire Prevention Month:  you are strongly encouraged to check your smoke alarm detector(s).
There should be one in each bedroom and each hallway. 
Good practice is to change the batteries each Spring and Fall.  Detectors must be replaced every 10 years.

2.  National Drug Take Back Day - October 26:  if you have unwanted prescriptions and/or any medications that
you do not need anymore, consider safely disposing them.

3. E-CARE Fall 2019 (Major Recycling Event):  Saturday, October 19, 8:30 AM - 3:00 PM, 1425 N Quincy St
Safely dispose of household hazardous materials and electronics, plus recycle bikes and small metal items among other things.
